Redistricting inches closer to a decision

As you know from our last issue, SLO County is redrawing Board of Supes district boundaries based on census population changes. This is a BFD because some proposed maps make wildly drastic changes, affecting voting demographics, which looks a lot like [cough cough] gerrymandering. Shudder. Fri morn 11/19, Board of Supes meet at 9 AM. Show up if you can make it, we need supportive bodies present. Or watch online. And be sure you submit comments here. Let ‘em know we’re watching closely and to vote fairly and equitably in their redistricting decisions, not for personal political gain. Note, census results show that nothing actually needs to be altered with the current district boundaries, so why all this drama with extreme changes?! Sigh…
