Zoos are in, but theme parks are out. You can’t get a pedicure but you can get your hair did. Tattoos & race track? Heck yeah! Live concert? Not yet. As we get dizzy following California’s Resilience Roadmap, lots of businesses are re-opening their doors (full list here). But as positive case numbers climb, don’t be a dummy. You know the drill: wash yo hands, maintain physical distance and now that they’re state-mandated, WEAR THE DAMN MASK.
Since COVID-19 has made “business as usual” anything but, the City started a pilot program with some hot and fresh ideas to re-imagine downtown. Open SLO creates pedestrian-only areas with expanded outdoor dining & retail space on Thursday/Friday nights and during weekends by closing down car traffic on Monterey and Higuera. Pick up some take-out and dine al fresco at the Mission! This one year pilot program kicked off low-key last week but we hope it will grow, helping local biz recover some cash flow and give folks more open space to SLO the spread.
