Patten map heads to court
In the legal battle over fair and equal voting rights in SLO County, the lawsuit to overturn the gerrymandered Patten redistricting map is gaining steam. Choo Choo. Implemented by the conservative BOS majority, the map drastically altered long standing communities of interest and took away voting rights for thousands. The preliminary injunction hearing is Feb 10, where they’ll ask the court to block implementation of the map, and consider alternative approaches to the upcoming June 7 elections for districts 2 and 4.
