New services for our unhoused
SLO is adding tools to their homeless services toolbox with a few new programs, including a new mobile crisis unit and a low income substance abuse assistance program. Modeled after other cities’ programs, the mobile crisis unit will bring non-emergency support to our chronically unhoused community, which will reduce emergency dispatch of paramedics and police. The substance abuse assistance program is currently under construction at 40 Prado and scheduled for a ribbon cutting next month. It will be a major linchpin in offering a full spectrum of homeless services all in one site.
