Advise THIS body

Soooo maybe you email City Council on topics that are important to you. Maybe you’ve even spoken at meetings [pats self on back]. But if you REALLY want to enact change on a local level, there’s a grrrreat step you can take that is MUCH less intimidating than throwing your hat in the ring and running for office.
We’re talking about Advisory Bodies, baby. It’s recruitment time again for the City of SLO with a Jan 16 deadline to apply. There’s openings to advise on things like tourism, parks, biking, trees, historically significant buildings and more. The heavy weight committees like Planning Commission and Architectural Review Committee have a stipend because of the time commitment and expertise involved, but some others won’t ask too much of you in the time and expertise departments. So make a pact to enact change on a local level by doing more in 2022 and apply to serve on an advisory body. Who’s with us?!
