Are you ready for this brand new beat?

As we begin to emerge from under the COVID-rock, we look to our leaders to shape the new normal so we can get back to livin and lovin our limp local economy. We get it, not everyone’s eager to jump right back in like some folx on Memorial Day. To help us feel more confident about rejoining society with the virus still hangin around, the City of SLO enacted the Open SLO initiative, which creates temporary uses of public right of ways to create more areas for us to be social at a distance. With sidewalks & parking spaces as the new al fresco dining spots, and streets closed to cars on wknds, peeps can be safely together & support local biz without feeling COVID-claustrophobic.
The City is looking for input on where and how these new spaces should be implemented in D-town and other key areas of SLO. With over 1,000 responses so far, let’s be sure the City hears our U40 voices so it’s not just those always yellin’ about too many damn bars. You have until May 31 to take the survey … and get off my lawn while you’re at it!
