Sets up scholarships & more
Last week’s gag order request against BLM protestors Tianna Arata, her co-defendants and their attorneys had us all cringing, “can this seriously get any more ridic?!” But today, the District Attorney’s office pulled something out of their backward-thinking cap that none of us expected. They not only dropped all charges against the protestors, but issued a public apology for being serious assholes, and promised to subsequently stop wasting taxpayer dollars and ‘ratchet up’ all their energy on real crimes.
During the April 1 press conference, DA Dan Dow told reporters he was in a subReddit for Candace Owens’ favorite recipes with some of the drivers who hit the protestors last June. A collective moment of Zen occurred over a shared love of Owens’ homemade bucatini carbonara, inspiring them to stop being so angry and set up a scholarship for Ethnic Studies courses throughout the County – how approp! Maybe there’s hope for reform in our police and criminal justice system just yet.
