Polls > pools?
In just a few short weeks, SLO City Council went from an empty pool of candidates to a pool party. Given that now the heat is on [literally], the Scoop envisions a potential debate to cool things down – best cannonball wins. We kid, we kid, but with four candidates for Mayor and eight candidates vying for two open council seats, there’s no shortage of opposing and potentially heated viewpoints. We just hope the campaigns are respectful and constructive, without the all-too-common mudslinging. Sheesh!
Don’t know the candidates? The City’s top elected post will see incumbent Mayor Heidi Harmon face challengers Cherisse Sweeney, Sandra Marshall-Erminger and Don Hedrick. Lone U40 councilmember Aaron Gomez is saying peace out to the dais, leaving Andy Pease to run for re-election, along with challengers Abrianna Torres, Erik Long, James Papp, Robin Wolf, Kelly Evans, Jeffrey Specht and familiar face Jan Marx. Grab your unicorn floatie and a cool cocktail as we jump into election season!
