Sus census or peeps peacing out?
Seems like all we hear about these days are out-of-town buyers snapping up all the available housing, so it was a little cray to learn this week that SLO County’s population declined by 5,646 residents from 2020 to 2021, from 276,818 to 271,172. Of course, the 2020 census was all kinds of messed up last year (even before the pandemmie!), after the last administration cut resources in an effort to count less peeps. Either way, an official count of fewer people means less representation, which is never good.
