Not SLO fast…
There’s a ton of chatter about cannabis with local gov trying to stay ahead of Prop 64’s January 1st implementation. First, Grover toked up with new sales tax revenue by allowing cultivation within a specific commercial zone. Then, Morro Bay (despite the Charles Lynch saga) is getting groovy by allowing two dispensaries in town and relaxing rules on reefer.
Meanwhile, Atascadero, AG, Pismo, and Paso aren’t as keen on the green, nixing brick-and-mortar dispensaries while allowing mobile deliveries. The City of SLO appears willing to give tokers what they want; the Planning Commission will consider a draft ordinance on Dec 13 that would allow 2-3 retail stores. Meanwhile, the County made it difficult for small businesses to succeed by requiring growers to own 10-50 acres or more. Keeping track of all these regulations just make us want to light up.
