After dragging their feet in 2017, SLOCo Supes finally got it together and unanimously approved landmark funding for affordable housing. Voting to change the inclusionary housing ordinance, this could quadruple funds raised annually from $25K to approx. $1 mill. All newly built homes will pay a tiered fee based on size, but to incentivize building smaller, homes 2,200sf & less will be exempt. Let’s hear it for the (typically partisan) Supes for joining forces to back affordable housing AND affordable-by-design in one encouraging swoop. Woop woop.
