I dream of tiny homes
Denied from living your tiny house dreams? No walkable bars in your ‘hood? Not enough great granny units for rent? Can you say Z-z-z-z-zoning?? Although the topic may sound like a snoozzzzefest, city zoning has major implications on the way we live.
The City of SLO is revamping their zoning regs, and City Council’s holding a study sesh next week to provide direction on key issues such as encouraging more flexible density downtown, considering tiny homes on wheels, making it legally easier to build ADUs (granny units), regulating rooftop uses, alcohol outlet regs and parking regs. Looking at the majority of zoning issues being reviewed, we’re seeing an affordable housing trend … and we likey. A big thumbs up emoji to our city affordable housing fighters! Council’s study sesh is next Tue 4/10, followed by a Community Workshop May 3, and final review coming in Aug. #tinyhousenation
